Dark Games continues along the same mindset as Serial, getting into the dark and often untouched pieces of Christianity. We talk about the good. We sing about the good. But it’s not all good. Dark Games goes through a cycle: rise, fall, acceptance, glory. This is a cycle we often go through in life. We think we can do everything ourselves (rise). We figure out we can’t (fall). We accept that we can’t do everything on our own and go one of two ways: the worldly way or the Godly way. When we choose the worldly way, we choose self-pity, narcissism, and selfishness. When we choose the Godly way, we choose to selflessness, humility, and glory to God. There’s no guilt or shame in Christ so the point isn’t to guilt people into choosing God. The point is to let everyone know we’re all imperfect. We all go through our own struggles and battles. This album captures the emotions, thoughts, feelings, and ideas surrounding that concept.
